Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, MD, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our power tools engineering team in a hybrid role. You will design and develop integrated electro-mechanical systems for motor-driven applications, emphasizing 3D modeling, mechanical design, and electronic-mechanical integration.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define requirements, deliver robust products through concept to mass production, perform DFMEA/PFMEA, DFMA, and testing, and ensure

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required, 3–5 years in product development.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software (CAD/CAM preferred, CATIA).
  • Familiarity with PCB design and integration.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronic and other products.
  • Experience designing plastic and metallic components; GD&T and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and motor controls using 3D modeling; manage BOMs and documentation in PLM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure robust product development.
  • Release specifications, RFQ packets, and costed BOMs; work with suppliers and contract manufacturers for cost, quality and delivery.
  • Contribute to electro-mechanical modules for power electronics and tools for high-mix and low-volume production.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, PFMEA, process control plans, and release engineering changes.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and reliability analyses and run tests to optimize performance.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement for manufacturing and product performance.
  • Support manufacturing, DFM initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
