Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, MD is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer for Electrical Systems Reliability. This hybrid role emphasizes battery, module, and charger development for power tools, plus reliability-driven NPD activities such as failure analysis, warranty modeling, and safety/compliance.

You will lead a small engineering team, develop test plans, FRACAS, and project milestones, and collaborate with compliance teams to obtain approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master's in Reliability or Systems Engineering is a plus.
• 5+ years in reliability/quality/testing for new product development with electrical systems.
• Experience with lithium battery, power/control electronics, motors, and QA assurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small technical team focused on battery, module, and charger development for power tools.
• Support NPD projects from a reliability perspective including failure analysis and safety/compliance.
• Serve as an EE design resource for complex systems ensuring compliant, reliable circuit designs.
• Establish and maintain project docs, test plans, FRACAS, and milestone tracking.
• Use data streams to inform design decisions and perform risk assessments.
• Lead safety reviews and collaborate with compliance teams (KEMA, TÜV, UL, CSA).
• Represent Voice of the Customer in quality-related development and respond to market feedback.
