Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, MD is seeking a CAE Project Engineer to join our design center on a hybrid schedule requiring onsite work three days per week. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze and optimize the durability and performance of power tool products through advanced simulation.

This role demands a master's degree and 6+ years of hands‑on FEA experience, with proficiency in ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, ABAQUS, and HyperMesh.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of hands‑on FEA experience in consumer products.
• Proficient in major FEA tools (ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, ABAQUS, HyperMesh).
• Strong knowledge of FEA theory, material failure criteria, solid mechanics, and fracture mechanics.
• Experience with 3D CAD & PLM systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross‑functional team.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAE simulations to support product development.
• Translate design requirements into simulation specs.
• Conduct linear and nonlinear static, dynamic, and multi‑physics analyses.
• Verify results with theory and test data.
• Inform design decisions from simulation outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Advance CAE methods to improve efficiency.
• Manage multiple projects with varying complexity.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Stay current with CAE tools and techniques.
