Job summary

ABB is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead field-based technical execution of Electrification Solutions projects in a hybrid role based in Houston, TX, Lake Mary, FL, or Mebane, NC. You will ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while meeting contract commitments on schedule and within budget.

You will oversee project teams, monitor progress, manage risks, and coordinate with subcontractors and field staff.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safety leadership and zero-incident culture.
• 8+ years of construction/field experience, preferably with electrical systems.
• Completion of 2 years of trade school, college, or equivalent journeyman experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
• Working knowledge of ATS, UPS, and switchgear systems, with exposure to commissioning and EPMS/SCADA concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability for creative issue resolution.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, trade labor, and multi-discipline field teams.
• Willingness to travel 50% and as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team and establish the project execution approach.
• Oversee planning, monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources.
• Monitor and control project progress, resource utilization, and project financials.
• Identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risk, pursuing opportunities.
• Drive formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and customer acknowledgement.
• Travel to customer sites, project locations, and ABB facilities as needed.
