Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Electrician at S. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. This full-time role is in the Facilities department, focused on electrical systems, maintenance planning, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency procedures, and mentoring junior electricians across multiple site locations. A valid license or equivalent experience is required, with a pathway for growth and professional development provided.

Qualifications

  • 3 years' related experience with license.
  • 5 years' related experience in lieu of license.
  • One or more of: High School diploma, trade school graduate, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Identify system failures to determine repair needs and upgrade electrical equipment.
  • Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules per NFPA, NEC, and TJC codes.
  • Outline emergency procedures for power outages and respond to safety concerns.
  • Manage energy systems and communicate work orders across facility sites.
  • Lead and assist with projects, participate in training, and mentor junior electricians.

Responsibilities
How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Identifies system failures to determine repair needs, installs equipment upgrades, and recommends long-term electrical strategies focused on cost savings.
  • Develops and performs preventative maintenance schedules in strict alignment with NFPA, NEC, and TJC codes, while generating monthly performance reports.
  • Outlines emergency procedures for power outages, responds to after-hours safety concerns, maintains vehicles and tools, and strictly follows PPE/standard safety precautions.
  • Manages energy systems, communicates work order statuses to personnel for regulatory compliance, and travels across multiple facility sites as required.
  • Leads and assists with special projects, participates in professional development seminars, and provides direct training and support to lower-level electricians and stakeholders.

  • 3 years' related experience with license.
