Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a skilled electrician for Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI. This is a full-time, 1st shift role within the Facilities department, focused on electrical maintenance, system upgrades, and energy management across multiple sites as needed.

The position requires a Journeyman or Master Electrician license and a high school diploma or trade school education. Proactive safety practices and ability to travel between sites are essential.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required.
  • Must have one or more of: High School diploma, Graduate of trade school, or other equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identify system failures to determine repair needs and install equipment upgrades.
  • Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules in line with NFPA/NEC/TJC codes.
  • Outline emergency procedures for power outages and respond to after-hours safety concerns.
  • Manage energy systems and communicate work order status across sites as needed.
  • Lead or assist with special projects and provide training to junior electricians.

Responsibilities
How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Identifies system failures to determine repair needs, installs equipment upgrades, and recommends long-term electrical strategies focused on cost savings.
  • Develops and performs preventative maintenance schedules in strict alignment with NFPA, NEC, and TJC codes, while generating monthly performance reports.
  • Outlines emergency procedures for power outages, responds to after-hours safety concerns, maintains vehicles and tools, and strictly follows PPE/standard safety precautions.
  • Manages energy systems, communicates work order statuses to personnel for regulatory compliance, and travels across multiple facility sites as required.
  • Leads and assists with special projects, participates in professional development seminars, and provides direct training and support to lower-level electricians and stakeholders.

Required
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required
And must have one or more of the following:
  • High School diploma.
  • Graduate of trade school.
  • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
