Job description

Job Title: Electrician

Responsibilities

• Provide expedient and professional maintenance to students living in residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses on the campus.
• Construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in the residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses for DASA Facilities.
• Maintain good physical condition to lift and set heavy equipment, climb ladders, pull heavy rolls of wire, and perform other similar tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education

• High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Some positions may require special licenses or certifications.

• Optional: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade.
• Skill in the use and care of tools of the trade.
• Ability to locate and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches.
• Ability to train apprentices in the electrical trade.

Required License or Certification

• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid NC driver’s license within 60 days of hire.
