Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $54.41 per hour

Duties
  • Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Replace lamps and ballasts.
  • Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles, switches, and other connections, and perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
  • Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlet repair/replacement, circuit breakers, sensors, and ground fault interruptions.
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently per the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain record of all service and repair activities.
  • Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
  • Work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
  • Distinguish between different wire colors.
  • Drive up to a 1-ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
  • Utilize digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Remove and replace wiring and conduit as required.
  • Be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E and comply with ANSI C2.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of electrical experience.
  • State of Alaska electrical license preferred (Journeyman level license preferred).
  • State of Alaska electrical administrator license preferred.
  • Alaska certificate of fitness required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Capable of working in inclement weather and high man lifts.
  • Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
  • Willing to work outside normal hours, including back shifts and weekends, with notice.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for extended periods.
  • Climb in and out of vehicles, up and down stairs, and perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
  • REAL ID-compliant driver's license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ID) for access to federal military installation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; background check and E-Verify will be conducted.
