Job summary

Delta Constructors seeks an Electrical General Foreman to supervise foremen and crews on an Alaska project, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The role requires coordinating with client reps, project management, and ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local codes.

You will manage scheduling, crew readiness, tool control, and daily documentation while mentoring apprentices and maintaining a safe, productive work site in North Slope, Alaska.

Qualifications

  • Supervise foremen and crews to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Know NEC/NFPA rules and applicable electrical codes.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly/daily work with project team.
  • Maintain safe, organized work environment and socialise plans with client reps.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure crews are on site, prepared and equipped to perform their assignments.
  • Lead toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Liaise with client representatives and project management on plans and quality control.
  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and client requirements.
  • Inspect work and document progress, materials, costs.
  • Train new crew members and oversee apprentices.
  • Organize work to maximize productivity and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, local codes and company standards.

Electrical General Foreman — Role Overview

The Electrical General Foreman reports directly to the Electrical Superintendent and is responsible for the supervision of foremen, work crews and the project as a whole, including but not limited to planning, crew development, material management, and quality control. The incumbent oversees the work of subordinates and interacts with site foreman to ensure quality, efficiency, safety and compliance with federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

  • 7 days per week, 11.5 hours per day

Licensing Information and Requirements
  • Alaska Electrical License required
Essential Job Functions
  • Ensure crews are on site, prepared and equipped to perform their assignments
  • Conduct and lead toolbox and safety meetings
  • Liaise and interface to socialize plans with client representatives, company and client quality control, and project management team in a professional manner
  • Ensure foreman and crews are following all client, company and OSHA safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of crews’ work to ensure consistency and quality
  • Prepare daily timesheets, documenting & approving work performed, materials used, costs, etc.
  • Assist foremen with training of new crew members
  • Create an efficient, safe work environment
  • Organize and plan work weekly and daily to ensure crews are productive and safe
  • Ensures all work is conducted in accordance with NEC and NFPA requirement as well as local, city, state, and national electrical codes, and all Company and Client standards.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Seven (7) years' experience as licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • NSTC – North Slope Training Certificate required

  • Demonstrated ability in supervising and leading others
  • Knowledge of electrical codes
  • Knowledge of proper electrical equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including installation, test, maintenance and repair
  • Understanding of how electrical system operates under normal and emergency conditions
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in repair of electrical equipment, wiring, and other fixtures.
  • Strong mechanical, analytical and solution driven skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and recommend solution
  • Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines, etc.
  • Ability to give direction and oversight to helpers and apprentices
