Job Summary:

Perform field testing of circuit breakers, transformers, medium-voltage cables, pressure switches, relays, and switchgear.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in primary & secondary injection testing, transformer testing & oil sampling, MV VLF Tan Delta testing, and infrared thermography. Note: Experience as an electrician or maintenance technician does not qualify as electrical testing experience.
• Familiarity with NETA and/or NICET power systems testing requirements is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• This position is represented by Local Electrical Union 124. Applicants not currently members are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 8,000 hours of documented electrical testing experience may qualify as a journeyman; others will start as trainees based on experience.
• Other requirements include:
• Primarily work in Kansas City Metro Area, with willingness to travel nationally.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification to tow trailers.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle record check; must be at least 18 years old.
