Field Service Technician- South (Remote+Travel)

Role Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for 24/7 on-call field service, troubleshooting, and training at customer sites for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components such as decanters, high-speed separators, or heat exchangers. The goal is to ensure reliable operation, optimal performance, and efficiency. This includes preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and warranty work, with management of travel costs and expenses.

Location

This is a remote position preferred in the Southern US region: Houston, TX; Baton Rouge, LA; Birmingham, AL; Broken Arrow, OK; Dallas, TX; Kansas City, MO. Multiple openings are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment on separators, decanters, and heat exchangers.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA standards.
• Conduct trial runs post-service to verify performance and quality.
• Document services and parts used for invoicing.
• Advise operators and maintenance personnel on safe operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on customer equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting and train customer staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Travel 75-85% as required.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or 2+ years relevant experience; basic knowledge of PLCs or processors; strong customer service, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team; basic PC skills. Role may require use of respirators, lifting heavy items, and physical activity.

Competitive salary ($58,000 - $75,000/year), full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life), 401(k), bonus, overtime, and sales commissions. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and skills.
