Field Service Technician

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work aligned with customer orders and expectations. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model for this role is: Remote. This position contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in St. Louis. You will mainly be responsible for:

1. Working with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
2. Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analysis via remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
3. Preparing material lists needed for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
4. Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications for the role

• High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years' experience or an Associate's Degree with 2+ years' experience in servicing critical power equipment; a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and moderate project management skills using MS Project or Excel.
• Ability to write detailed test plans and reports.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, including occasional nights and weekends.
• Legal work authorization in the US is required.
