Job summary

Vertiv's Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) and High Voltage Maintenance (HVM) seek a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing with NETA Level III/IV certification. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance tests on high-voltage power systems, lead testing teams, and ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA.

Extensive travel (up to 75%) supports regional and national projects across critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with listed test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Experience with protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time pressure.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
