Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to lead high‑voltage testing across regional and national projects. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV, mentor junior technicians, and require a deep knowledge of NETA standards.

Responsibilities include testing protective relays, conducting system studies, and delivering thorough engineering reports.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification (current & in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, breakers.
• Interpret results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time pressure; mentor Level I/II technicians.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams; ensure compliance with safety standards.
