Job summary

Vertiv in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV, with projects regionally and nationally. You will conduct power system studies and test protective relays.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF
• Ability to read and interpret one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
• Valid driver's license with clean record and willingness to travel up to 75%

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based)
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
