Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled electrical inspection, testing, and startup technician to lead field and shop activities on low and medium voltage equipment, including breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and MCCs.

The role requires travel regionally and nationally, with international travel preferred, and a commitment to safety and documentation. You will interpret schematics, work with test devices such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters, and collaborate with engineers

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of electrical experience with a HS diploma/GED.
Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC and OSHA standards.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and manuals.
Proficiency in protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear and related equipment.
Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.
Willingness to travel regionally, nationally and internationally.
Commitment to safety and detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, lead and support multiple projects onsite and in-house.
Test MV cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays and related equipment.
Contain material costs by eliminating wasteful practices and implementing controls.
Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
Promote continuous improvement and teamwork.
