Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking a Test Technician to lead and perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and startup of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment in field and shop environments.

The role requires testing of breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and related equipment, with travel to multiple sites and potential international opportunities. A minimum of 2 years of electrical experience and a High School Diploma/GED are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical testing.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house utilizing company software systems, review and maintain job documentation, from receipt of order to invoice.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, instrument and power transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and other electrical apparatus.
• Contain material costs by eliminating wasteful practices and implementing control measures.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
• Promote an attitude of continuous improvement and teamwork.
