Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday; 2pm-12:30am (weekend work and overtime as needed)
Location: Benshaw, 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 (RIDC Park)
Position Overview
Test Technician will perform functional electrical testing and troubleshooting on Benshaw electronic components, panels, and assemblies.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform final visual, electrical, and functional tests on complete range of Benshaw products.
- Achieve/maintain Company’s Quality goals.
- Support Company in achieving on-time shipments; overtime may be required.
- Interface with Engineering Department during product testing to ensure proper operation.
- Collaborate with Engineering on revisions to existing test procedures and aid in developing new procedures.
- Provide feedback to Manufacturing Departments about problems found during product testing and support/training when necessary.
- Report quality problems/component failures in a timely manner.
- Process nonconforming parts and components per the Benshaw MRB (Material Review Board) process.
- Perform preventative maintenance on test fixtures and/or associated test equipment.
- Understand functional attributes of test fixtures and/or associated test equipment.
- Maintain the established Benshaw 5S requirements.
- Verify that employees’ personal protective equipment is undamaged, functional, and used as required.
- Develop/follow safety policies of the Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience testing/troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
- Completed high school diploma or GED.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic panels and assemblies down to the component.
- Ability to read a schematic.
- Computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Dependable with willingness to work overtime.
- Previous military training as an Electronic Technician is advantageous.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 8 or more hours per shift.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive use of the hands and arms.
- Must use hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
- Requires sufficient visual acuity to inspect parts, read work instructions, and perform quality checks.
- Must work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions while wearing required PPE.
