Job summary

Modular Mission Critical is seeking a skilled electrical test technician to lead inspection, testing, and startup of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment at our VA site. You will work with breakers, transformers, relays, and switchgear in field and shop environments, traveling regionally and potentially internationally.

Applicants should have 5+ years of relevant electrical experience, strong knowledge of safety standards (NETA/IEEE/NEC/OSHA), and hands-on testing with

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of electrical experience with HS diploma/GED.
• NETA/NICET preferred or equivalent hands-on electrical testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with protective relays, breakers, transformers, switchgear.
• Familiarity with test equipment like Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke.
• Understanding of insulation resistance, power factor, Hi-Pot testing.
• Knowledge of medium/high voltage up to 500kV and arc flash analysis.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in industrial/data center/utility settings.
• Safely follow industry best practices and LOTO protocols.
• Maintain detailed test reports and client documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers/project managers/clients for commissioning.
• Mentor junior technicians as needed.
• OEM certified field service training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead projects onsite and in-house, manage documentation from order to invoice.
• Perform testing of low/medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, relays and other equipment.
• Contain costs by eliminating waste and implementing controls.
• Attend to on-call emergencies as needed.
• Promote continuous improvement and teamwork.
