Job summary

Modular Mission Critical, near Richmond, VA, seeks an electrical testing engineer to lead inspection, testing, maintenance, and startup of low and medium voltage equipment. You will work in field and shop environments, travel as needed, and help ensure project success while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating project activities, performing acceptance testing per NETA, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and U.S. work authorization.
• Experience with electrical testing and protective relays is preferred.
• Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NETA/NFPA/NEC/OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, relays and related equipment.
• Coordinate projects onsite and in‑house; maintain job documentation from receipt to invoice.
• Promote continuous improvement and safe work practices; support startups and commissioning.
• Travel locally and regionally; international travel preferred when needed.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful commissioning.
