Job summary

Midwest Technical Institute is seeking an Electrical Instructor to deliver high-quality classroom theory and hands-on lab instruction in electrical technology. The role includes assessing student performance, advising students on course selection, and collaborating with faculty to maintain curriculum quality and program excellence.

The position requires 3–5 years of electrical industry experience, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to safety and student success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of professional electrical experience.
• Prior teaching/instructional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in electrical theory, principles and practices, covering circuitry, wiring and safety standards.
• Deliver both lecture-based and hands-on lab courses to students in the electrical technology program.
• Assist in the development and continual improvement of the electrical curriculum, aligning with industry standards.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes and exams with constructive feedback.
• Offer academic advising and career guidance to help students select courses and understand industry opportunities.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in all classroom and lab activities.
• Participate in professional development and faculty meetings to stay current with industry advancements.
• Collaborate with local employers to identify job opportunities and help students prepare for the workforce.
