Midwest Technical Institute – Springfield, IL is seeking an Electrical Instructor to deliver classroom instruction and hands-on lab training using an established curriculum.

The role offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment and a pay range of $56,000–$65,000 annually based on experience. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM. Join MTI to help train the next generation of electricians and stay current with industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional electrical industry experience.
• Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, codes, and safety standards.
• Current industry certifications preferred, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction and hands‑on lab training using an established curriculum.
• Demonstrate industry best practices, safety standards, and electrical techniques.
• Evaluate student progress through assignments, practical assessments, and exams.
• Prepare students for industry certifications and entry‑level employment.
• Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Track student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
• Ensure lab equipment and materials are maintained and ready for instruction.
• Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success and continuous program improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and maintain applicable certifications.
