Job summary

Southwestern Illinois College seeks an instructor for the Industrial Electrical Technology department. The candidate will develop, teach and maintain Electrical Technology courses, assess student performance, and collaborate with faculty to improve instructional effectiveness in safety-oriented labs.

The ideal candidate has industry experience, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students toward careers in the electrical field, with strong communication and a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• Two years of teaching experience preferred.
• 2,000 hours of documented work experience in Electrical/ Motors/ Controls or PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, teach and maintain Electrical Technology courses.
• Assess student performance and adapt instruction to improve outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, organized lab environment complying with OSHA standards.
• Collaborate with department to evaluate and improve instructional effectiveness.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and career advice to students.
