Dorsey College in Madison Heights, MI seeks a Full-Time Electrical Technician Instructor to deliver consistent, high-quality instruction across multiple courses in the Electrical Technician Program. You will plan lectures, supervise hands-on labs, monitor progress, and collaborate with the Lead Instructor to meet program outcomes.

The role requires practical electrical experience, the ability to teach NEC and safety standards, and commitment to an inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Minimum four years of electrical trade experience.
• Prior teaching or mentoring experience in a trade setting is helpful but not required.
• Broad knowledge across electrical technician subjects to support varying classes.
• Completion of an electrical trade program is helpful but not required.
• MI Journeyman Electrician License is helpful but not required.
• Background check required under Dorsey College policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver classroom lessons and hands-on labs using the approved course outline.
• Collaborate with the Lead Instructor on program outcomes and course sequencing.
• Demonstrate electrical techniques, safe practices, NEC, and industry standards.
• Prepare materials and maintain a safe, organized lab; monitor equipment.
• Evaluate student work and provide timely grades and feedback.
