Job summary

ARAUCO North America, Inc. in Moncure, NC is seeking an Electrical Technician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of mill machinery and to support hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.

You will troubleshoot motors, sensors, and PLCs while maintaining power distribution and ensuring safety procedures. The role demands hands-on maintenance expertise in a heavy manufacturing setting, with opportunities for professional growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Significant industrial manufacturing maintenance experience required.
• Demonstrated electrical and technical aptitude.
• Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance experience.
• Experience with AC motor control (including drives).
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct installation, maintenance, preventive/predictive maintenance, setup, troubleshooting, and repair of mill machinery.
• Provide electrical support for hydraulics, pneumatics, hot oil systems, pumps, fans, and conveyors.
• Replace motors (low/high voltage), motor starters, sensors, and variable frequency drives.
• Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs, associated I/O, and control networks.
• Maintain mill power distribution (480V–13.8kV).
• Document work in the CMMS.
• Promote safe work practices (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, etc.).

In this role, you would:

Physical Requirements:

• Move freely throughout the facility, including stairs and ladders
• Bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Perform physical tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects
• Stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise, and varying temperatures

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders
• Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and crouching for equipment inspection and maintenance
• Lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently
• Conduct physical tasks requiring lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects
• Stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
• Physical activity, including standing, climbing, and lifting, is required
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
• May include working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays, and being on call for emergencies
