Job summary

ARAUCO - North America in Moncure, NC is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for mill machinery. You will conduct installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, provide electrical support for hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors, and replace motors and drives across 480V–13.8kV systems.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and substantial industrial maintenance experience, with strong electrical aptitude and Allen Bradley PLC knowledge.

  • Demonstrated electrical and technical aptitude.
  • Allen Bradley PLC knowledge.
  • Diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience.
  • Experience with AC motor control (including drives).
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct installation, maintenance, preventive/predictive maintenance, setup, troubleshooting and repair of mill machinery.
  • Provide electrical support for hydraulics, pneumatics, hot oil systems, pumps, fans and conveyors.
  • Replace motors (low/high voltage), motor starters, sensors and variable frequency drives.
  • Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs, I/O and control networks.
  • Maintain mill power distribution (480V–13.8kV).
  • Document work in the CMMS.
  • Promote safe work practices (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, etc.).

In This Role, You Would

Physical Requirements
  • Move freely throughout the facility, including stairs and ladders
  • Bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Perform physical tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects
  • Stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise, and varying temperatures
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders
  • Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and crouching for equipment inspection and maintenance
  • Lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently
  • Conduct physical tasks requiring lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects
  • Stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
  • Physical activity, including standing, climbing, and lifting, is required
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
  • May include working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays, and being on call for emergencies
