Job summary

Shaw Industries in Chickamauga, GA, seeks a Maintenance Tech Lead to oversee electrical maintenance and project work on the plant floor. The role involves coordinating trouble calls, mentoring technician-electrical staff, performing preventive maintenance, and leading electrical projects with safety and reliability in mind.

You will learn and use Ariba and EZ Entry/TPM systems for procurement and work instructions, while ensuring downtime is minimized and work orders are completed accurately.

Qualifications

• Must have verifiable experience interpreting schematics and programming PLCs.
• Able to use test equipment including DMMs, amp meters, and Megger meters.
• Proficient in designing, installing, repairing and maintaining motors and drives.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, inverters and related electronics.
• Ability to diagnose maintenance problems and document outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Receive project assignments from supervisor and respond to trouble calls from production and other departments.
• Provide technical guidance and training to all plant technician-electricians.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Oversee all electrical projects in the plant.
• Assist manufacturing on downtime if necessary.
• Assist manufacturing with clean up if necessary.
• Complete assignments in a timely fashion.
• Report to management any quality and safety problems and potential production problems that are encountered while performing the job.
• Perform all job duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or others.
• Learn and use Ariba procurement system to order parts and supplies related to job needs.
• Learn and use EZ Entry/TPM system to set up and receive work instructions.
