Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in the Electrical Systems Technology Diploma and Certificate programs at the Clarkesville Campus. The program is designed to prepare participants for entry‑level positions to provide inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems in the residential, commercial, and industrial industries. The instructor must demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques and use of testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and other record‑keeping. They should apply effective oral and written communication skills, stay current with in‑field procedures, and follow the approved course syllabus. The instructor evaluates student progress, completes reports and records timely, and maintains accurate inventory of all assigned properties. Teaching may involve traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes, typically performed in a classroom/lab environment requiring intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for 3–4 continuous hours. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50 lbs. Work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors, with occasional exposure to cold, inclement weather, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes.
