Job summary

Columbus Technical College, part of the State of Georgia system, is seeking a Full-time Technical Instructor in the Machine Tool Technology Department. This position involves supervising, preparing lesson plans for classroom and hands-on lab instruction, and evaluating student progress toward goals and objectives.

The role may involve teaching high school students, travel within our service area, and ensuring safety and security in training areas while maintaining equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Diploma in Machine Tool Technology from an accredited college or technical institution.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience (experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the Conventional or CNC Machining fields
  • Training or teaching experience
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in Machine Tool and CNC skill areas.
  • Develop and maintain program and course outlines, goals, and objectives in accordance with state standards.
  • Evaluate student progress toward meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Maintain program supplies, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Adhere to program management procedures and maintain required documentation.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in all training areas.
  • Respond promptly to administrative requests and communications.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
  • Apply keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Utilize general computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a Full-time Technical Instructor in our Machine Tool Technology Department. This individual will be responsible for general supervision, preparation of lesson plans for classroom and lab hands on lab instruction. This position also requires evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives; attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences, and ensure all safety and security requirements are met in training.This is a full-time/exempt position
Please note the following information regarding this position:

  • May be required to teach high school students
  • May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County
  • May require travel
Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students in Machine Tool and CNC skill areas.
  • Develop and maintain program and course outlines, goals, and objectives in accordance with state standards.

Salary/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
