Job summary

Vertiv in Delaware, Ohio is seeking an Electrical System Engineer to design, develop, and validate STS and PDU 3-phase power products. This onsite role requires strong understanding of electrical systems, industry standards, and monitoring controls to ensure reliable field performance.

You will work with product managers, project engineers, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into specifications, develop test plans, and prepare technical documentation for customer-facing materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in product development and testing.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with 3 phase power and conversion/conditioning products preferred.
  • Understanding of UL, IEC, NEC standards and their application in design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; travel 0-10% (domestic/international).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of STS and PDU 3-phase power products, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specs.
  • Collaborate with product managers and project engineers to translate requirements into specifications.
  • Specify site planning data, power distribution layouts, and environmental considerations.
  • Specify circuit breakers and develop coordination schemes for protection and reliability.
  • Develop control system designs and schematics using ECAD tools, integrating Vertiv controls.
  • Create and execute test plans to validate thermal, EMI, metering, and fault performance.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and review user manuals.
  • Work with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams for seamless deployment.
  • Identify process improvements and drive engineering enhancements.
