Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and validate power distribution equipment in Marietta, OH. The role covers hands-on troubleshooting, documentation, and product support for PDUs, switchboards, and related systems.

You will work on hardware design, certification support with UL/CSA/IEC, and contribute to robust, compliant power solutions for distribution equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
• Experience with CAD drafting software (AutoCAD or similar).
• Experience designing PDUs, STSs, RPPs, and switchboards.
• Familiarity with test equipment: oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of three-phase power systems.

Responsibilities

• Design product-level electrical systems, selecting components and packaging.
• Apply analog/digital circuit, magnetics, and thermal design knowledge.
• Develop specs for power protection systems.
• Design switchboard power and control circuits.
• Create and maintain BOMs, schematics, and docs.
• Support integration of third-party devices in power distribution equipment.
• Participate in hardware design reviews and robustness evaluations.
• Prepare customer/manufacturing docs, test procedures, reports.
• Provide sustaining engineering for power protection systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems.
• Support product safety certifications with UL/CSA/IEC.
