Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer in Delaware, Ohio to design, develop, and validate STS and PDU 3-phase power products. You will ensure compliance with UL, IEC, NEC standards and translate requirements into detailed specifications.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and manufacturing to deliver robust power solutions, run test plans, and produce technical documentation for field deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s considered.
  • 7+ years in product development and testing.
  • Experience with 3-phase power and distribution products preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of UL/IEC/NEC standards and their application in design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop STS and PDU 3-phase power products ensuring compliance with standards and customer specs.
  • Collaborate with product managers and project engineers to translate requirements into engineering specs.
  • Specify site planning data: power layouts, cable sizing, environmental considerations.
  • Specify circuit breakers and develop coordination schemes for protection and reliability.
  • Develop control system designs and schematics using ECAD tools; integrate monitoring controls.
  • Create test plans to validate thermal, EMI, metering, and fault performance; document results.
  • Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and schematics; review user manuals.
