Electrical Applications Engineer – Data Center Power

Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Applications Engineer to support the design, application, and implementation of electrical power-distribution solutions for data center environments. This position works across sales, engineering, customers, consultants, contractors, production, and field teams to turn technical requirements into practical solutions.
The role combines engineering support, technical documentation, customer interaction, troubleshooting, and product application.
- Translate customer requirements into engineered electrical solutions in partnership with Sales.
- Preparesubmittal packages, proposals, drawings, technical documentation, and compliance materialsfor customer review and approval.
- Support order entry and remain involved through manufacturing, installation, and field startup.
- Work with customers and consultants on power distribution applications andSTS (Static Transfer Switch)solutions.
- Review electrical designs and provide guidance on appropriate application and integration of products.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues that arise during equipment installation, commissioning, or operation.
- Provide technical presentations and training for customers, consultants, and channel partners.
- Participate in product testing, application-note development, and competitive analysis.
- Collect field and customer feedback and communicate findings to Product Development and R&D.
- Travel to customer locations, construction sites, and data center facilities approximately25–35%of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experiencein applications, field, and/or design engineering involving data center electrical infrastructure.
- 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Strong understanding of data center electrical architecture, including:
- UL 891 switchboards
- PDUs
- STSs
- Electrical redundancy strategies such asN+1 and 2N
- Ability to read and interpretelectrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically as required.
