Job summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC. is hiring an Electrical Engineer II to design and validate electrical systems for school and commercial buses.

You will develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics and BOMs, while applying the latest industry advances to reduce cost and improve performance. The role requires a BS in electrical/mechatronics/automotive engineering and 3+ years of automotive design experience, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronics or automotive engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years related automotive design experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and downstream impacts.

Responsibilities

• Design school bus electrical systems using electrical engineering principles.
• Develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics and Bills of Materials.
• Prototype and test new systems with the Test Group and apply results to designs.
• Support production, warranty reduction and field service with reliable, low-cost solutions.
• Communicate effectively with design teams and other departments.
