Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in High Point, NC is seeking a design engineer to develop school bus interior and exterior body components. You will apply engineering principles, CAD techniques, and BOM creation to deliver manufacturable designs.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree with CAD experience (Creo preferred), strong teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits and potential career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of related experience OR 6+ years of design engineering experience required.
• Experience with 3D CAD design required (Creo preferred).
• An attached resume is required.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes preferred (e.g., press brake, roll forming, fasteners, stampings).

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering techniques and principles to design and develop school bus interior/exterior body components.
• Apply CAD principles to develop 3D models, installation drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Independently analyze and proactively provide creative, technically-feasible solutions to production problems.
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, Quality and other departments to implement manufacturable and cost effective design solutions.
• Interface with Test & Compliance personnel to prototype new systems and perform development testing.
