Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in High Point, NC is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to lead design and development of advanced vehicle components and control systems for school buses. You will drive electrical architectures, CAN networks, and power distribution while coordinating with engineering and suppliers to deliver reliable, efficient solutions.

The role requires collaboration, project leadership, and hands-on guidance of a platform team to launch new electrical and controls options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience preferred.
• Experience releasing commercial vehicle electrical systems to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design advanced vehicle components and systems.
• Interface with engineering personnel and suppliers to determine design and materials.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers during development/testing.
• Research state-of-the-art vehicle tech and apply advances.
• Lead a platform team to develop and launch electrical and controls systems for school bus applications.
