Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to supervise and direct electrical operations for a project area. You will lead craft teams, enforce safety standards, and ensure work aligns with specifications, budget, and schedule.

The role requires a engineering or construction management degree and extensive direct-hire industrial experience. Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination with safety and industrial relations are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• 10–13 years of experience or 14–17 years equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Heavy industrial direct hire union construction experience.
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field electrical activities.
• Experience installing electrical equipment and systems through final termination and operation.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generation construction preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide Electrical leadership to personnel in the area.
• Lead safety procedures and safety meetings for Bechtel and subcontractors.
• Inspect site for unsafe conditions and take corrective action.
• Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices.
• Champion ZERO Accident Philosophy and compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor craft activities for compliance with specs and schedules.
• Manage cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor and equipment 90-day/3-week look aheads.
• Interface with Industrial Relations for recruitment and training.
• Review craft time records and approve subcontractor mobilization/demobilization.
• Implement corporate project policies within electrical operations.
• Coordinate labor hiring with General Foreman.
• Provide input to quantity tracking and weekly installation reports.
• Prepare material requisitions through Procurement.
• Assist in construction testing as required.
• Prepare progress/forecasts and manpower/equipment planning.
• Conduct employee reviews and identify development opportunities.
