Job summary

TEAM, Inc. is seeking a motivated Heat-Treating Technician with Electrical Resistance Methods experience to perform PWHT and controlled heat cycles on piping, vessels and weldments in field and shop environments.

You will set up equipment, monitor cycles, document results, and collaborate with welders, inspectors, and client representatives, with travel and extended shifts possible. A strong safety mindset and knowledge of ASME/API codes are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of hands-on electrical resistance heat treating experience in industrial environments.
• Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, or other site access credentials.
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background checks.
• Knowledge of ceramic heating pads, controller programming and insulation layout.
• Familiarity with weld joint prep and applicable codes (ASME, API).
• Willingness to travel and work extended shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and breakdown electrical resistance heating systems and related equipment.
• Execute PWHT and preheat activities per procedures and codes.
• Install heat treating blankets, insulation, and thermocouples with precision.
• Program and record temperature cycles using control units and recorders.
• Interpret weld procedures, stress relief specs, and heat treat drawings.
• Troubleshoot equipment and temperature control issues during operations.
• Coordinate with welders, inspectors, and client representatives on-site.
• Maintain logs of heat cycles and QA/QC documentation.
• Adhere to safety procedures for electrical equipment and high temperatures.
• Mentor junior technicians as assigned.
• Perform general rigging and site labor as needed.
