Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL seeks a project engineer to define scope, plan investigations, and determine costs, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input and product data. You will travel to client sites, communicate UL procedures, discuss project costs, and negotiate completion dates while addressing client concerns and providing technical assistance.

With a bachelor's in engineering and 0–2+ years of experience, you will coordinate lab activities, review files, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.
• 0–2+ years of experience or fresh graduates welcome.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for tests.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope and plan investigations with cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Travel to client sites to promote and explain UL services and benefits.
• Follow up on client contacts and discuss technical issues with UL procedures and costs.
• Coordinate laboratory activities, prepare data sheets, and schedule work for technicians and engineers.
• Address client concerns and provide technical assistance and tests per UL requirements.
• Review files and manufacturer's information to establish test programs and variations.
