Job summary

Helix Electric offers a Project Engineer Intern role supporting the Project Manager on field-to-office liaison work. You will help define project objectives, plan, execute and finalize tasks within schedule and budget while gaining hands-on experience across diverse construction projects.

As part of the internship, you will engage with project teams, vendors, and BIM coordination, while benefitting from a mentor program designed to develop your skills beyond graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in CM/EE/CE/related field.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project managers, subs, engineers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with superintendent to track materials and coordinate with vendors.
• Champion Helix safety culture on site and promote accident prevention.
• Assist with Change Order process and estimating using Accubid.
• Analyze subcontract agreements with project team to understand scope and pricing.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement.
• Work with BIM department for coordination and planning.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
