Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. is offering a Project Engineer Intern opportunity that bridges field and office through hands-on project work and mentorship. You will contribute to planning, scheduling, budgeting, and close-out activities on diverse electrical construction projects.

The internship emphasizes learning the construction lifecycle, collaborating with project teams, and gaining exposure to procurement, learning Accubid, and BIM coordination while developing professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in construction or engineering.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Motivated with initiative and proactive mindset.
• Strong math basics for data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well across all levels of the organization.
• Committed to continuous improvement of processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with PMs, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with superintendents to track materials and timing.
• Champion Helix safety culture on job sites.
• Assist with change orders and estimating using Accubid.
• Analyze subcontract agreements to understand scope and pricing.
• Support material and equipment procurement activities.
• Coordinate with BIM and assist in planning.
• Produce and maintain detailed project logs.
• Monitor quality control and safety compliance.
• Manage labor schedules with site teams.
• Create prefabricated assemblies for planning and delivery.
• Learn the trade on site to boost overall performance.
