Job summary

Duke Energy is hiring an Electrical Engineer II or III for Project Management & Construction in the Carolinas. The role supports all phases of major projects, from scoping to commissioning, with technical oversight and coordination across engineering and construction teams.

Hybrid work is available with base in Charlotte or Raleigh and relocation support as needed. You will work under the PMC Design Engineering – Electrical leadership and contribute to solar, BESS, and other generation projects

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program (MS may substitute)
• MS in engineering will be considered in lieu of BS
• PE license or eligibility considered (Engineer III)

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of project scope and EPC bid packages
• Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards
• Assist in cost estimates, scheduling, risk analysis, and contract development
• Participate in design reviews, construction support, RFIs, commissioning, and turnover to operations
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches; review power-system studies
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across teams and vendors
• Travel up to 15–25% as required
