Job summary

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in Detroit, MI. You will lead design efforts as project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on delivery of larger work.

This role focuses on analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for buildings, with responsibilities for budgets, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5 years minimum experience in building design consulting; 6 preferred.
• Proficiency in design techniques and production of technical plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for analysis of electrical systems and prepare designs, specs, and calculations per codes and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information effectively.
• Support project execution with budgeting, scheduling, and task management to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress (percent complete and fee expended).
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions with senior staff.
• Provide in-process design reviews and implement quality control per requirements.
• Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in electrical engineering.
• Prioritize safety and identify risks in electrical systems.
• Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration.
