Job summary

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, seeks an Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer to lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical power engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical or mechanical engineering and an interest in growing into project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/Mechanical engineering, construction management, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience managing utility or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in electrical systems, power distribution, protection & control, or substation testing.
• Working knowledge of NETA testing procedures and ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and leading field testing teams.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage all site-level document control, ensuring current drawings, specifications, and work orders are available.
• Process, track, and distribute RFIs with a current RFI log and timely responses.
• Prepare, submit, and track site submittals including data sheets and calibration records.
• Maintain organized site files, daily reports, and photographic documentation.
• Support the Project Manager in assembling and maintaining job packets reflecting approved scope.
• Submit daily progress reports documenting work, crew deployment, and weather conditions.
• Maintain a daily site log with significant activities and directions.
• Photograph work in progress for project documentation and quality records.
• Track daily quantities and any rework or deficiencies identified.
• Coordinate daily work sequencing between crews for proper testing readiness.
