Chippewa Valley Technical College is seeking an experienced instructor to lead courses in Electrical Power Distribution and develop progressive curricula. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality instruction and assessing competencies to support student success.

You will teach across terms with a flexible schedule, including possible evenings, online, or summer assignments, while maintaining professional standards and contributing to a collaborative campus culture.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Lineworker Apprenticeship program.
  • Technical diploma in Electrical Power Distribution with 4 years of occupational experience OR an associate’s degree in any area with a technical diploma in Electrical Power Distribution with 2 years of occupational experience.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures common to the electric line industry.
  • Class A CDL or ability to obtain.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience operating equipment: Digger Derrick truck, bucket truck, backhoe, trencher, plow, skid loader preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan for and instruct courses in the area of Electrical Power Distribution.
  • Design and implement relevant and progressive curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction through planning and implementing effective learning strategies and environments.
  • Create performance-based assessments aligned with competencies through formative and summative measures.
  • Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
  • Ability to model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
  • Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally; practicing active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.
