Job summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College seeks a full-time Electrical Lineworker Instructor to lead classroom and field training in power distribution and generation. You will ensure instruction aligns with industry standards and safety regulations while preparing students for relevant credentials.

You will teach, assess, and mentor students, coordinate hands-on labs with bucket trucks and line equipment, and collaborate with employers to meet workforce needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of electrical lineworker experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean record.
• Current DOT physical.
• Knowledge of Rural Utilities Service (RUS) specifications and linework operations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral, auditory, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach all assigned courses for the full duration of scheduled instruction.
• Deliver instruction in overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, including pole climbing, line construction, transformer installation, and system troubleshooting.
• Facilitate hands-on training in laboratory and field environments with hand tools, power tools, bucket trucks, and digger derricks.
• Teach, model, and enforce OSHA regulations, safety standards, fall protection, and emergency procedures.
• Prepare students to obtain industry credentials such as OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Work Zone Flagger Certification, trenching safety, and Class A CDL.
• Evaluate student performance through assessments, demonstrations, and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with local employers for needs assessments and curriculum alignment.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, certifications, and compliance.
