STV Incorporated is seeking a Senior Electrical or Mechanical Inspector in Hartford, CT. You will conduct field inspections from installation to commissioning, ensuring compliance with contract documents and CTDOT CEI processes.

The role requires a BS degree with relevant experience or CMIT/NICET credentials, strong documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency staff on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience or CMIT Level 4 / NICET Level 3 with 6 years in construction engineering and inspection.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical building and infrastructure systems.
• Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections during installation through commissioning, to verify electrical and/or mechanical systems are compliant with contract documents.
• Document construction activities and maintain daily inspection reports, project records, and quantity documentation.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, work plans, test reports, and as-built documentation.
• Support field inspection teams by providing technical assistance, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to facilitate project success.

Job description
