Job summary

STV Incorporated in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Transportation Northeast division. You will inspect highway and bridge construction, facilities, and rail/transit projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements, with on-site work as needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders; documenting nonconforming work; tracking quantities; and coordinating with contractors, engineers, and agency

Qualifications

• NICET Level 1 with 4 years of construction engineering and inspection experience.
• Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed.

**STV is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Transportation Northeast department in Hartford, CT****Responsibilities:*** Inspect construction activities related to highway/bridges, facilities/buildings, or rail/transit projects.* Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions.* Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action* Review project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders.* Complete daily work reports with photographs and progress documentation* Track and document quantities of work performed by the contractor* Resolve construction problems and challenges in the field* Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success.**Required Qualifications:*** NICET Level 1 with 4 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection.
