Job summary

The Falkirk Mining Company is seeking an enthusiastic electrical intern for a 3- or 15-month program at a surface coal mine. The role emphasizes hands-on repair, inspection support, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across varying voltages, under rotating shift schedules.

Eligibility includes enrollment in an accredited electrical program with good academic standing and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather. The program offers real-world training with safety-focused operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
• Completed a portion of college in the associated field of study with intent to complete the degree.
• Applicants must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work rotating shifts.
• Steel-toed shoes required.

Responsibilities

• Repair electrical mining equipment and facilities.
• Assist with electrical inspections on mine equipment.
• Work with different voltage electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot motor control circuits, PLC, and digital drive control systems.
• Operate in compliance with MSHA laws, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
