Job summary

Russel Metals USA Inc. is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician in Houston to perform electrical and mechanical repairs and routine maintenance on industrial equipment.

The role requires diagnosing issues, dismantling and reassembling machines, and ensuring safe, efficient operation in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of general maintenance experience, vocational training or journeyman-level education, and the ability to read English and metric

Qualifications

• Requires vocational/trade school education or journey-level experience.
• Basic measuring skills to read and convert units in English and metric.
• Basic arithmetic skills for decimals and fractions.
• Emergency call-out availability evenings/weekends.
• Minimum 2 years in general maintenance repair including electrical and mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical or mechanical issues and troubleshoot errors.
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using tools and equipment.
• Reassemble machines following manufacturer requirements after repair.
• Start machines and monitor operation to ensure proper performance.
• Record production, repair, and maintenance information.
• Read work orders to identify equipment needing service.
• Collaborate with teammates to move or repair equipment.
• Maintain spare-parts inventory and preventive maintenance programs.
